Easily one of the most versatile and talented songwriters to come out of Alberta is Rob Heath. For years, his career crossed the border and found him writing for Glen Campbell Music, Criterion/Atlantic Music and Don Goodman Music. The gift he saved is all his favourite songs that he recorded on his own CD, Couple of Times Round The Sun.

First and foremost a storyteller who just happens to be a songwriter, Heath says it best: "I tell stories and I believe that our take on the world is moulded by stories. Music can give those stories an express ticket to the heart."

His two previous albums, Decomposing and Play On, contain the Top 40 Singles Let's Go Round The World Tonight and Baby I Wanna Do Right. In 2002, Heath won the Canadian Radio Music Award for songwriting. In 2003, he was one of only six songwriters out of 600 applicants who were New Folk winners at the highly regarded Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, joining the ranks of alumni such as Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams, Shawn Colvin, Steve Earle and Tom Russell.

You can buy it just to enjoy, but if you are a songwriter then Couple of Times Round The Sun, eight years in the making, is a must-have in your music collection. Available at most music stores, www.robheath.com and www.canadiancowboy.ca.

Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Chevy Truck Rising Star Nominee and Western Canadian Music Association (WCMA) Outstanding Country Album Nominee, Samantha King, has signed an RCA Nashville Recording Developmental Deal. RCA Nashville, a unit of BMG Music, has launched the careers of such artists as Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Andy Griggs, Sara Evans, and Bobby Pinson.

Samantha, born in Edmonton and raised in Bruce, is one of a select few Canadians to break into the American country music market to sign a deal with a major label. Only 20-years-old, Samantha has been touring Western Canada since the release of her debut album This is Forever produced by Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett). She has performed on the main stages at Big Valley Jamboree, Nashville North Calgary Stampede, Dauphin Countryfest Manitoba, Spilchen's Grande Prairie and Merritt Mountain Festival in British Columbia.

She just released The All Overs written by Samantha and Ted Hewitt of Hewitt Music Nashville. It hit #24 on the Top 100 CanCountry Charts in July 2005, as well as reaching the #1 spot on both CISN-FM and CFCW. The All Overs is available for download from Samantha's website at www.samantha-king.com.
