Twelve time Canadian champion Mel Coleman

Coleman Inducted

Saddle bronc rider Mel Coleman, a 7 time Canadian Champion Saddle Bronc Rider and 5 time Canadian All Around Champion will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and Museum on June 14 in Regina.

Coleman qualified 20 times for the CFR in a major event and 16 times for the NFR (1974 – 1989). He was also a member of the Canadian team roping squad at the Olympic Command Performance Rodeo in Salt Lake City in 2002. He was also named Cowboy of the Year at the NFR. Coleman was inducted into the CPRA Hall of Fame in 2001.

Coleman is one of only two rodeo contestants inducted; the other was bronc and bull rider, the late Brian Claypool.
