Curtis Cassidy, timed event competitor, earns two hot spots in the Calgary Stampede

Curtis Cassidy, three-time Canadian high-point champion and the 2001 Canadian Tie-Down Champion is a double-threat, and he proved it at Rodeo Royal by winning both the steer wrestling and tie-down roping events, thereby earning two invitations to the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede in July. The single, twenty-seven-year-old cowboy from Donalda, Alta. could potentially win $232,000 at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

The always innovative Calgary Stampede has completely changed their rodeo format. Now, entries are limited to twenty invited contestants per event. They have increased the prize money to a staggering 1.6 million dollars, and the grand winner of each event will receive a $100,000 cheque, plus their day money. This will be the show of shows!
