Who's Hot

August-September 2008

Pick up man Jeff Resch drops a loop on a bareback horse at the Lakeland College Finals before the potential wreck even started. The ability of the Reschs to anticipate and read a situation has both him and his twin brother, Jason, on the “A” list of pick up men.

Pick Up Man Laid Low

Best wishes to pick up man Jeff Resch who broke his neck in an early morning single vehicle rollover June 16. Resch extricated himself from the vehicle and flagged down a passing motorist for a ride home. In cowboy style, he returned to the site with his wife Sandy, to fix the fence.

“I talked to him about 8:00 a.m. and he said he was feeling good, except for tingling in a couple of fingers,” said his twin brother, pick up man Jason Resch, behind the chutes at the Sundre Pro Rodeo.

“Sandy talked him into going to the hospital at Three Hills,” he continued, “they couldn’t find anything wrong but they sent them to the Drumheller hospital. They looked at him, strapped him to a backboard and shipped him right to Calgary in an ambulance. He had a broken neck.”

Jeff was held in the Calgary hospital for a week, and will be on the sidelines recuperating for a full 6-8 weeks. “He’s in a neck brace,” said Jason. “He says he still has numbness in two fingers, but the doctors think that will go away.”
