Romance with the Range

Prickly Pair

Prickly Pair’s lead singer and songwriter, Locke Hamilton, has spent many years on horseback, training and doing ranch work in northwestern Wyoming. She’s one-half of the husband-and-wife western music duo, Prickly Pair. Locke’s tonal clarity and touch of Celtic dialect gives a real individual sound. Les Hamilton, the other half, is an award-winning fiddle player and his musicianship is pure, clean fun. This CD also introduces talented bass player and vocalist Norman Winter.

You get 15 songs and Romance with the Range, The Ranch Sale and Calloused Hands and a Soft Heart will all make the Spirit of the West playlist. Last Trip Home is my favourite; Locke’s love for stout-legged ranch horses is the theme that runs through this catchy, pure cowboy song with a Celtic lilt.
